Indications:

Treatment of herpes zoster (shingles)
Treatment of genital herpes in immunocompetent individuals
Suppression of recurrent genital herpes
Reduction of transmission of genital herpes

Treatment of herpes simplex infections in immunocompromised patients

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to valacyclovir, acyclovir, or any component of the formulation
