- Treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer
- First-line treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive or hormone receptor unknown locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer
- Treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women with disease progression following tamoxifen therapy
Contraindications:
- Pregnancy
- Premenopausal women
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Known hypersensitivity to anastrozole or any of the excipients
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Very common: Hot flashes, asthenia, arthritis, pain, arthralgia, stiffness, Common: Nausea, headache, bone pain, rash, osteoporosis, fractures, Uncommon: Vaginal bleeding, vomiting, diarrhea, liver enzyme elevations, Rare: Allergic reactions, including angioedema, anaphylaxis
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dose of Anastrozole is one 1 mg tablet taken once a day. It can be taken with or without food.
