Pharmachologic effect:

Nifuroxazide is an intestinal antiseptic with a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity. It works by inhibiting bacterial enzyme activity and disrupting the synthesis of proteins within the bacterial cell, leading to the elimination of pathogenic bacteria in the intestines.

Indications:


  • Acute diarrhea of bacterial origin
  • Chronic diarrhea associated with intestinal infections
  • Prevention of infectious complications in gastrointestinal surgeries

Contraindications:


  • Hypersensitivity to nifuroxazide or any of the excipients
  • Pregnancy and lactation
  • Children under 3 years of age

Side effects:


In order of decreasing probability: Rare: Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, or urticaria, Very rare: Anaphylactic shock

Dosing and Administration:


For adults and children over 14 years: 200 mg every 6 hours. For children aged 6 to 14 years: 100 mg every 6 hours. The treatment duration should not exceed 7 days.

Storage:


Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
