- Epilepsy (partial seizures with complex symptomatology, generalized tonic-clonic seizures, mixed seizure patterns)

Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to carbamazepine or any other components of the drug
- Atrioventricular block
- History of bone marrow depression
- Use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) within the last 14 days
- Porphyria

In order of decreasing probability: Dizziness, Drowsiness, Nausea, Vomiting, Ataxia, Rash, Hyponatremia, Leukopenia, Agranulocytosis, Aplastic anemia
