Pharmachologic effect:

Riboxin Aveksima is a metabolic agent that improves myocardial metabolism, enhances energy balance in cells, and has antihypoxic and antiarrhythmic effects. It increases the energy balance of the myocardium, improves coronary circulation, and prevents consequences of renal ischemia.

Indications:


  • Ischemic heart disease
  • Myocardial infarction
  • Cardiomyopathy
  • Arrhythmias caused by cardiac glycosides
  • Hepatic diseases such as hepatitis and cirrhosis

Contraindications:


  • Hypersensitivity to inosine or any component of the drug
  • Gout
  • Hyperuricemia
  • Severe renal impairment

Side effects:


In order of decreasing probability: Allergic reactions (rash, itching), Hyperuricemia, Exacerbation of gout, Tachycardia, Dizziness

Dosing and Administration:


The recommended dose is 200 mg taken orally 3-4 times a day before meals. The dose can be increased to 400 mg 3-4 times a day if well tolerated. The course of treatment is usually 1-3 months.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
