- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Acute pain management
- Primary dysmenorrhea
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to celecoxib or any component of the formulation
- History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Severe renal impairment
- Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
- Third trimester of pregnancy
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Headache, Hypertension, Diarrhea, Dyspepsia, Abdominal pain, Nausea, Upper respiratory tract infection, Edema, Dizziness, Rash
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dose for osteoarthritis is 200 mg per day as a single dose or in two divided doses. For rheumatoid arthritis, the recommended dose is 100 to 200 mg twice daily. For ankylosing spondylitis, the recommended dose is 200 mg per day as a single dose or in two divided doses. For acute pain and primary dysmenorrhea, the initial dose is 400 mg, followed by an additional 200 mg if needed on the first day. On subsequent days, the recommended dose is 200 mg twice daily as needed.
