- Short-term management of moderate to severe acute pain
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to ketorolac or any other NSAIDs
- Active peptic ulcer disease
- Recent gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation
- History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
- Severe renal impairment
- Concurrent use with other NSAIDs
- Labor and delivery
- Breastfeeding
- Children under 16 years of age
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Nausea, Dyspepsia, Abdominal pain, Drowsiness, Headache, Dizziness, Diarrhea, Constipation, Edema, Hypertension, Rash
Dosing and Administration:
For adults, the recommended oral dose is 10 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain relief. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 40 mg. The duration of treatment should not exceed 5 days.
