Tamiflu is an antiviral medication that blocks the actions of influenza virus types A and B in the body. It works by inhibiting the enzyme neuraminidase, which is essential for the viral replication process.Indications:
- Treatment of influenza in patients 1 year and older who have been symptomatic for no more than 2 days.
- Prophylaxis of influenza in patients 1 year and older.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to oseltamivir phosphate or any component of the formulation.
- Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance ≤10 mL/min).

Dosing and Administration:
For treatment of influenza, the recommended oral dose for adults and adolescents 13 years and older is 75 mg twice daily for 5 days. For prophylaxis, the recommended dose is 75 mg once daily for at least 10 days following close contact with an infected individual.
