Atorika Tabs contain Etoricoxib, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used primarily for the relief of pain and inflammation. It is particularly effective in treating conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Etoricoxib works by selectively inhibiting COX-2, an enzyme responsible for inflammation and pain. This selectivity helps reduce gastrointestinal side effects compared to traditional NSAIDs. The medication is available in tablet form, making it convenient for daily use. Patients are advised to follow the prescribed dosage for optimal results. Regular monitoring may be necessary for long-term usage.

Pharmachologic effect:

Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering agent that works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in the production of cholesterol in the liver. It effectively reduces levels of 'bad' cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein, LDL) and triglycerides in the blood, while increasing levels of 'good' cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein, HDL).

Indications:


  • Hypercholesterolemia
  • Mixed dyslipidemia
  • Prevention of cardiovascular disease

Contraindications:


  • Hypersensitivity to atorvastatin or any component of the formulation
  • Active liver disease
  • Unexplained persistent elevations of serum transaminases
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation

Side effects:


In order of decreasing probability: Common: Headache, nasopharyngitis, arthralgia, diarrhea, Uncommon: Myalgia, insomnia, dizziness, nausea, Rare: Hepatitis, cholestasis, rhabdomyolysis

Dosing and Administration:


The recommended starting dose of Atorika Tabs is 10 mg once daily. The dosage can be adjusted at intervals of 4 weeks or more, based on the patient's response and cholesterol levels, up to a maximum dose of 80 mg daily. The tablets can be taken with or without food.

Storage:


Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
