DepreNorm OD is an anti-ischemic medication that improves myocardial glucose utilization through inhibition of fatty acid metabolism. It helps to maintain energy metabolism in cells exposed to hypoxia or ischemia, preventing a decrease in intracellular ATP levels and ensuring the proper functioning of ionic pumps and transmembrane sodium-potassium flow while maintaining cellular homeostasis.Indications:
- Long-term treatment of stable angina pectoris
- Symptomatic treatment of vertigo and tinnitus
- Adjunctive treatment of symptoms in patients with cochleovestibular disorders
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to trimetazidine or any of the excipients
- Parkinson's disease, parkinsonian symptoms, tremors, restless leg syndrome, and other related movement disorders
- Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min)
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Common: Dizziness, headache, Uncommon: Abdominal pain, diarrhea, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, Rare: Palpitations, extrasystoles, tachycardia, Very rare: Agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytopenic purpura
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dose is one tablet of DepreNorm OD 35 mg taken twice daily, in the morning and evening, during meals. The dosage may be adjusted based on the patient's response and tolerability.
