КардиАСК is an antiplatelet agent that inhibits platelet aggregation, thereby reducing the risk of thrombus formation. It works by irreversibly inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which results in decreased synthesis of thromboxane A2, a promoter of platelet aggregation.Indications:
- Prevention of myocardial infarction
- Prevention of stroke
- Treatment of acute coronary syndrome
- Prevention of thromboembolic complications after surgical interventions on the heart and vessels
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs
- Active peptic ulcer disease
- Hemorrhagic diathesis
- Severe renal or hepatic impairment
- Asthma induced by salicylates or other NSAIDs
- Children and adolescents with viral infections due to risk of Reye's syndrome
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Gastrointestinal discomfort, Nausea, Heartburn, Increased bleeding tendency, Allergic reactions, Bronchospasm, Tinnitus
Dosing and Administration:
For the prevention of myocardial infarction and stroke, the recommended dose is 75-100 mg once daily. In acute coronary syndrome, an initial dose of 160-325 mg is recommended, followed by 75-100 mg daily. Tablets should be taken with water, preferably after meals.
Storage:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
