Concor is a selective beta1-adrenergic receptor blocker that reduces heart rate, cardiac output, and blood pressure, thereby decreasing the heart's oxygen demand.Indications:
- Hypertension
- Chronic stable angina pectoris
- Chronic heart failure with reduced systolic left ventricular function
Contraindications:
- Acute heart failure
- Cardiogenic shock
- Second or third degree AV block
- Severe bradycardia
- Severe hypotension
- Severe bronchial asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Late stages of peripheral arterial occlusive disease and Raynaud's syndrome
- Untreated pheochromocytoma
- Metabolic acidosis
- Hypersensitivity to bisoprolol or any component of the formulation
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Common: Fatigue, dizziness, headache, bradycardia, Uncommon: Sleep disturbances, depression, respiratory distress in patients with asthma, Rare: Hepatitis, elevated liver enzymes, muscle weakness, vision disturbances, Very rare: Conjunctivitis, hearing impairment, allergic rhinitis
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended starting dose is 5 mg once daily. In some patients, the dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily. The maximum recommended dose is 20 mg once daily. The tablets should be taken in the morning with or without food and swallowed whole with water.
Storage:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C (86°F).
