Pharmachologic effect:

AmbroGEXAL is a mucolytic agent that enhances the production of surfactant in the lungs and stimulates ciliary activity. These actions improve mucus flow and facilitate expectoration, making it easier to clear the airways.

Indications:


  • Acute and chronic respiratory diseases associated with abnormal mucus secretion
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Bronchitis
  • Bronchial asthma with difficulty in expectoration

Contraindications:


  • Hypersensitivity to ambroxol or any other components of the drug
  • Severe hepatic or renal impairment
  • First trimester of pregnancy
  • Lactation period

Side effects:


In order of decreasing probability: Common: Nausea, altered taste, Uncommon: Dry mouth, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, Rare: Skin rash, urticaria, Very rare: Anaphylactic reactions, including anaphylactic shock

Dosing and Administration:


For adults and children over 12 years: 30 mg (1 tablet) 2-3 times daily. The dosage can be adjusted to 60 mg (2 tablets) twice daily if needed. For children aged 6-12 years: 15 mg (half a tablet) 2-3 times daily. Tablets should be taken with a sufficient amount of liquid, after meals.

Storage:


Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
