- Hypertension
- Chronic stable angina pectoris
- Chronic heart failure with reduced systolic left ventricular function
Contraindications:
- Severe asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Severe bradycardia
- Second or third degree AV block
- Cardiogenic shock
- Severe peripheral arterial circulatory disorders
- Untreated pheochromocytoma
- Metabolic acidosis
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Common: Fatigue, dizziness, headache, bradycardia, Uncommon: Sleep disturbances, depression, respiratory distress, Rare: Hepatitis, allergic reactions, vision disturbances
Dosing and Administration:
The usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily. Depending on the patient's response, the dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily. In some cases, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 20 mg once daily.
