Vipidia
Vipidia, containing the active ingredient Alogliptin, is designed to help manage blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. By inhibiting the enzyme DPP-4, Vipidia increases insulin production and decreases glucagon levels, especially post-meal. This action helps to regulate blood sugar levels effectively. It's typically used in conjunction with a balanced diet and regular exercise. Vipidia is available in tablet form, providing a convenient option for those with diabetes seeking reliable blood sugar control. It's an essential part of a comprehensive diabetes management plan.Active substance:
AlogliptinPharmachologic effect:
Alogliptin is a selective inhibitor of the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), which slows the inactivation of incretin hormones, thereby increasing their levels in the bloodstream. This leads to an increase in insulin synthesis and release from pancreatic beta cells and a decrease in glucagon secretion from pancreatic alpha cells, resulting in improved blood glucose control.Indications:
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control in adults as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to alogliptin or any of the excipients
- Type 1 diabetes mellitus
- Diabetic ketoacidosis

Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Headache, Nasopharyngitis, Upper respiratory tract infection, Gastrointestinal disturbances, Rash, Hypoglycemia (when used with insulin or sulfonylureas), Pancreatitis
