Furosemide tablets are a potent diuretic medication commonly used to treat edema associated with congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and kidney disorders. Contraindications:
- Anuria
- Severe electrolyte depletion
- Hypersensitivity to furosemide or sulfonamides

Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Hypokalemia, Hyponatremia, Dehydration, Hypotension, Dizziness, Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Hyperglycemia, Hearing loss
Dosing and Administration:
The usual initial adult dose is 20 to 80 mg as a single dose. If necessary, the dose may be increased by 20 to 40 mg every 6 to 8 hours until the desired diuretic effect is achieved. Maintenance doses may be given once or twice daily.
