Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to celecoxib or any component of the formulation
- History of allergic reactions to sulfonamides
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Severe renal impairment
- Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
- Active gastrointestinal bleeding or peptic ulcer disease
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Headache, Hypertension, Diarrhea, Nausea, Dyspepsia, Abdominal pain, Dizziness, Edema, Upper respiratory tract infection
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dose of Dolocox for osteoarthritis is 200 mg once daily or 100 mg twice daily. For rheumatoid arthritis, the recommended dose is 100 to 200 mg twice daily. For ankylosing spondylitis, the recommended dose is 200 mg daily in single or divided doses. For acute pain, the initial dose is 400 mg, followed by an additional 200 mg if needed on the first day. On subsequent days, the recommended dose is 200 mg twice daily as needed.
