Furosemide

Furosemide

Furosemide is a potent diuretic medication primarily used to treat fluid retention (edema) associated with heart failure, liver disease, and kidney disorders. It works by increasing urine production, helping to reduce the excess fluid in the body and alleviate symptoms such as swelling and shortness of breath. Furosemide tablets are also prescribed to manage hypertension, as reducing fluid volume can help lower blood pressure. This medication is effective in providing relief from edema-related discomfort and controlling blood pressure levels. Furosemide is typically administered orally in tablet form and should be taken as directed by a healthcare professional. It is an essential medication in managing conditions related to fluid overload and hypertension, ensuring better health outcomes.
