Pharmachologic effect:

Nifuroxazide is an intestinal antiseptic with a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity. It works by inhibiting the activity of bacterial enzymes, thus preventing the growth and multiplication of bacteria in the intestines.

Indications:


  • Acute diarrhea of bacterial origin without signs of systemic infection
  • Chronic colitis and enterocolitis

Contraindications:


  • Hypersensitivity to nifuroxazide or any of the excipients
  • Children under 3 years of age
  • Pregnancy and lactation

Side effects:


In order of decreasing probability: Allergic reactions, Nausea, Abdominal pain, Diarrhea

Dosing and Administration:


Adults and children over 7 years: 200 mg every 6 hours. Children from 3 to 7 years: 100 mg every 6 hours. The duration of treatment should not exceed 7 days.

Storage:


Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
