Levofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that belongs to the fluoroquinolone class. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes necessary for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death.Indications:

Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to levofloxacin or other quinolones
- Epilepsy

Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Nausea, Diarrhea, Headache, Dizziness, Insomnia, Constipation, Rash, Tendonitis, Photosensitivity reactions, QT interval prolongation
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dose of Levofloxacin tablets is 500 mg once or twice daily, depending on the severity and type of infection. The duration of treatment is usually 7 to 14 days. Tablets should be taken with water, with or without food.
