- Hypertension

- Left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction

Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to captopril or any other ACE inhibitors
- History of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor treatment
- Hereditary or idiopathic angioedema
- Pregnancy
- Severe renal impairment

Dosing and Administration:
The recommended starting dose for hypertension is 25 mg two to three times daily. The dose may be adjusted based on patient response, with a usual maintenance dose of 50 mg two to three times daily. For heart failure, the initial dose is 6.25 mg to 12.5 mg two to three times daily, with a maintenance dose of 25 mg two to three times daily. Dosage adjustments may be necessary for patients with renal impairment.
