
Perindopril
Perindopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used primarily to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. By relaxing blood vessels, Perindopril helps to lower blood pressure, thus reducing the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It is also used to improve survival after a heart attack and in patients with stable coronary artery disease. The medication is typically taken orally in tablet form, usually once a day. Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Common: Dizziness, headache, cough, Uncommon: Hypotension, nausea, vomiting, Rare: Angioedema, hyperkalemia, renal impairment
Dosing and Administration:
The usual starting dose is 4 mg once daily, which may be increased to a maximum of 8 mg once daily depending on the patient's response and clinical condition. It is recommended to take the tablet in the morning before a meal.
