- Chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction
- Stable angina pectoris in patients with normal sinus rhythm
Contraindications:
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Resting heart rate below 60 beats per minute before treatment
- Acute myocardial infarction
- Severe hypotension
- Cardiogenic shock
- Pacemaker dependence
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Hypersensitivity to ivabradine or any of the excipients
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Bradycardia, Atrial fibrillation, Visual disturbances (phosphenes), Headache, Dizziness, Hypertension, Nausea
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended starting dose of ivabradine is 5 mg twice daily. Depending on the patient's response, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 7.5 mg twice daily. It should be taken with meals.
