Ketotifen is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. It is used to prevent and treat allergic conditions such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and conjunctivitis.Indications:
- Prophylaxis of bronchial asthma
- Allergic rhinitis
- Allergic conjunctivitis
- Chronic urticaria
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to ketotifen or any of the excipients
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Children under 3 years of age
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Drowsiness, Dry mouth, Dizziness, Weight gain, Increased appetite, Nausea, Headache, Rash
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dose for adults and children over 3 years is 1 mg twice daily (morning and evening). In case of pronounced sedative effect, it is recommended to gradually increase the dose over the first week of treatment, starting with 0.5 mg twice daily.
Storage:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
