Metostabil is a dopamine receptor antagonist that enhances gastrointestinal motility and accelerates gastric emptying. It also has antiemetic properties by blocking dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone of the central nervous system.Indications:
- Nausea and vomiting prevention
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Gastroparesis
- Facilitation of small bowel intubation
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to metoclopramide
- Gastrointestinal bleeding or obstruction
- Pheochromocytoma
- Epilepsy
- Parkinson's disease
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Drowsiness, Fatigue, Restlessness, Extrapyramidal symptoms, Diarrhea, Hypotension, Galactorrhea
Dosing and Administration:
