Pharmachologic effect:

Indications:


  • Treatment of influenza A and B in adults and children

Side effects:


In order of decreasing probability: Nausea, Vomiting, Headache, Abdominal pain, Diarrhea, Dizziness, Cough, Fatigue, Insomnia

Dosing and Administration:


For treatment of influenza, the recommended oral dose for adults and adolescents is 75 mg twice daily for 5 days. For prophylaxis, the recommended dose is 75 mg once daily for at least 10 days following close contact with an infected individual. The dosage for children is based on body weight and should be determined by a healthcare professional.
