Novobismol has an anti-ulcer effect, forming a protective layer on the surface of ulcers and erosions, which protects them from the aggressive influence of gastric acid and pepsin. It also has antibacterial activity against Helicobacter pylori.Indications:
- Peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum
- Chronic gastritis and gastroduodenitis
- Functional dyspepsia not associated with organic gastrointestinal diseases
- Helicobacter pylori infection (as part of combination therapy)
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to bismuth compounds
- Severe renal impairment
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Children under 12 years of age
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Nausea, Vomiting, Constipation, Diarrhea, Darkening of the stool, Allergic reactions
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dose for adults and children over 12 years is 1 tablet 4 times a day (30 minutes before meals and at bedtime) or 2 tablets 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 4-8 weeks. It is recommended to avoid the use of milk, fruit, or fruit juices within 30 minutes before and after taking the medication.
