Pharmachologic effect:

Analgin is a non-opioid analgesic and antipyretic. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of pain and inflammation, thus providing pain relief and reducing fever.

Indications:


  • Mild to moderate pain (headache, toothache, muscle pain, menstrual pain)
  • Fever reduction

Contraindications:


  • Hypersensitivity to metamizole sodium or other pyrazolones
  • History of agranulocytosis
  • Severe hepatic or renal impairment
  • Pregnancy and lactation
  • Children under 10 years of age

Side effects:


In order of decreasing probability: Rare: Agranulocytosis, Rare: Leukopenia, Rare: Thrombocytopenia, Rare: Anaphylactic shock, Rare: Skin rash, Very rare: Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Very rare: Toxic epidermal necrolysis

Dosing and Administration:


Adults and children over 15 years: 250-500 mg up to 3 times a day. Maximum single dose is 1 g, and maximum daily dose is 3 g. For children aged 10-14 years: 250 mg up to 3 times a day. The tablets should be taken with water, preferably after meals.

Storage:


Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
