- Bacterial infections caused by susceptible strains

Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to chloramphenicol or any component of the formulation
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Bone marrow suppression
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Neonates
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Aplastic anemia, Bone marrow suppression, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Rash, Headache, Peripheral neuropathy
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dosage for adults is 250-500 mg every 6 hours. The dosage may be adjusted based on the severity of the infection and patient response. It is advised to take the medication with a full glass of water and to complete the full course of therapy even if symptoms improve.
