Ezetimibe is a lipid-lowering compound that selectively inhibits the intestinal absorption of cholesterol and related plant sterols. It acts by targeting the Niemann-Pick C1-Like 1 (NPC1L1) protein on the gastrointestinal tract epithelial cells, reducing the amount of cholesterol delivered to the liver, thereby decreasing hepatic cholesterol stores and increasing clearance of cholesterol from the blood.Indications:

Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to ezetimibe or any component of the formulation

Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dose of Ezetimibe is 10 mg once daily. It can be administered with or without food. Ezetimibe may be taken at the same time as a statin or fenofibrate.
