Rosuvastatin is a lipid-lowering agent that inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a central role in the production of cholesterol in the liver. Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or any component of the formulation
- Active liver disease
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Severe renal impairment

Dosing and Administration:
The recommended starting dose is 5 to 10 mg once daily, with or without food. The dose may be adjusted at intervals of 4 weeks or more, based on individual response and tolerability, up to a maximum of 40 mg once daily.
