- Treatment of neurocysticercosis caused by Taenia solium
- Treatment of hydatid disease caused by Echinococcus granulosus
- Treatment of ascariasis, trichuriasis, and hookworm infections
- Treatment of enterobiasis (pinworm infection)
- Treatment of strongyloidiasis and other helminthic infections
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to albendazole or any component of the formulation
- Pregnancy
- Severe hepatic impairment

In order of decreasing probability: Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Dizziness, Elevated liver enzymes, Alopecia, Fever, Rash
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended dose for adults and children over 2 years is 400 mg once daily. The duration of treatment varies depending on the type of infection being treated. For neurocysticercosis, the treatment may last from 8 to 30 days. For hydatid disease, treatment is typically 28 days followed by a 14-day drug-free interval, repeated for a total of 3 cycles.
