- Symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea

Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to loperamide or any of the excipients
- Acute dysentery, characterized by blood in stools and high fever
- Acute ulcerative colitis
- Bacterial enterocolitis caused by invasive organisms including Salmonella, Shigella, and Campylobacter
- Pseudomembranous colitis associated with the use of broad-spectrum antibiotics
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Common: Constipation, nausea, headache, Uncommon: Dizziness, dry mouth, abdominal pain, Rare: Rash, fatigue, vomiting, Very rare: Ileus, megacolon, hypersensitivity reactions
Dosing and Administration:
For adults and children over 12 years: Start with 2 tablets (4 mg) after the first loose stool, followed by 1 tablet (2 mg) after each subsequent loose stool. Do not exceed 8 tablets (16 mg) per day. For children aged 6-12 years: Use as directed by a healthcare professional.
