Pharmachologic effect:

Ortofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation and pain.

Indications:

Contraindications:

Side effects:


In order of decreasing probability: Nausea, Indigestion, Diarrhea, Headache, Dizziness, Elevated liver enzymes, Rash, Fluid retention, Hypertension, Gastric ulcer

Dosing and Administration:


The recommended dose of Ortofen for adults is 50 mg taken two to three times daily, depending on the severity of the condition. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 150 mg. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water, preferably before meals.

Storage:


Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C (77°F).
