- Treatment of hypertension
- Management of chronic heart failure post-myocardial infarction
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to eplerenone or any component of the formulation
- Severe renal impairment
- Hyperkalemia
- Concomitant use with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements
Side effects:
In order of decreasing probability: Hyperkalemia, Dizziness, Fatigue, Diarrhea, Cough, Nausea, Headache
Dosing and Administration:
The recommended starting dose for hypertension is 50 mg once daily, which may be increased to 100 mg once daily based on patient response. For heart failure post-myocardial infarction, the initial dose is 25 mg once daily, titrated to a target dose of 50 mg once daily, as tolerated by the patient.
